'Sasta' is the web application Steve Root created to manage Rotary Club members notifying their attendance (or not) at our regular Rotary Club meetings. It replaced an earlier system written by a past member
Sasta is designed to:
Yes, your club is welcome to use it. Email me to arrange access
The cost is Free.
I thought about asking for a donation to my club's charitable funds but then decided we're all in Rotary to do good things in the community. If this system can save you some time to allow you to do a good thing then I'm very happy. However, it's worth me saying the 'file store' uses Amazon Web Services for hosting which has a real cost. Generally this is so cheap I'm happy to allow every club to use Sasta for free. If you have huge quantities of documents to store then we can talk about effective ways to do this if it ever becomes a problem. The server cost is zero as it runs alongside other applications and web sites I have.
This is the first screen you see when you log in. Blue text is a link.
"Meetings" will take you to a page where you can update your status for upcoming meetings. You go here to say if you are attending or not attending or if you are bringing visitors. The system assumes you will always be attending.
"Reports" will take you to a list of upcoming meetings, which is where you can see responses of other members and see any visitors coming to that meeting
"Events" will take you to a list of current events that members are organising. If you haven't responded to an event, it will also be listed here
"Calendar", if your club has a google calendar (or .ics formated calendar file url) then the next 10 events will be displayed
For each meeting, you can uncheck the attending box if you are not coming. You can leave a comment - useful perhaps if you share your menu choice for the meeting. Remember to click the 'update your status' button
If you have visitors, you can add their details here.
Any member can create an event
The events system will remind every member to respond. A response is selecting 'Yes', 'No' or 'Undecided' and can also include a comment. A member can respond more than once, which is useful if you are bringing friends to an event and using the comment field to enter a menu choice for everyone.
To see who is attending a meeting, you can select the meeting from the reports menu or from your meetings page, the date of the meeting is also a link to the reports.
The file store is a place to store documents and images that are accesable to every member. Every member can documents here. It is a single page listing all documents so to help find things documents can be 'tagged'. The tags appear at the top of the page and can be clicked to filter the view to show matching documents. A document can have multiple tags. For example tags of '2016', 'council meeting minutes'. When you add a document to the file store you can create new tags to suit your needs.
